Job Details

As an experienced architectural professional, you will independently handle all architectural tasks for assigned projects with minimal supervision from senior staff. Additionally, you may be called upon to assist with other projects as needed to meet deadlines or support your colleagues.

While your official reporting line is to the Leadership Team, you will also take direction from other project managers or architects when contributing to their projects. You will play a key role in training and mentoring Junior-Level Staff and Summer Interns, though they will not be your direct reports. The goal is to foster collaborative relationships and provide mentorship in a supportive, team-oriented environment rather than a traditional manager-employee structure.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
You will lead all client interactions from project initiation through completion. This includes coordinating project schedules, conducting feasibility studies and site analyses, preparing materials for presentations and drawing sets, and effectively managing/overseeing consultants. You will also develop specifications, manage bidding and negotiations, oversee all construction administration services, and complete all project close-out tasks. All project management activities must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the CA Procedure Manual.

DESIGN:
You will collaborate with senior staff on various aspects of architectural design, ensuring that all design work is reviewed at appropriate stages by the Design Director and the Founder.

PRODUCTION:
You will oversee all presentation, drawing, and specification production related to your projects. This includes creating hand sketches, rendered drawings, construction documents, and construction sketches, with support from junior staff as needed. All materials must not only meet CA Standards but also reflect the beauty of the designs they convey.

TRAINING/MENTORSHIP:
You will be responsible for educating and mentoring junior staff, particularly those assisting on your projects. If you identify areas where these team members require additional training or resources, it is your responsibility to notify the leadership team.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited college/university
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years, including experience managing residential projects
  • Skills: Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Sketching
