We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Permanent Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a background in heavy civil construction, specifically in bridge and railroad construction and pile driving. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in overseeing some of our most complex and challenging projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing all phases of heavy civil construction projects from inception to completion.
2. Supervising and coordinating the activities of construction teams to ensure projects are executed according to design, budget, and schedule.
3. Ensuring all construction activities comply with safety and quality standards.
4. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during the construction process.
5. Implementing effective communication channels to keep all parties informed of project status, changes, and developments.
6. Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure work is being carried out to the highest standards.
7. Coordinating and supervising all construction activities, including pile driving, bridge, and railroad construction.
8. Managing resources and logistics to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.
9. Preparing and presenting project reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the heavy civil construction industry.
2. Proven experience in managing large-scale bridge and railroad construction projects, including pile driving.
3. In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, OSHA guidelines, and industry best practices.
4. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve project goals.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to resolve project-related issues effectively and efficiently.
6. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
7. Proficiency in using construction management software and other relevant computer applications.
8. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various construction sites as required.
9. A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred, but not essential. Relevant industry certifications will also be highly regarded.
