Summary
The position is responsible for supervising daily production operations including scheduling, identifying recruitment needs and training/organization of production associates (where applicable). The Lead Hand is responsible for reviewing and approving employee hours, overseeing all production staff (ensure safety, delegate work duties, assign break times, complete administrative work).

Primary Responsibilities

• Plans and schedules production personnel to ensure proper customer staffing levels are maintained and all positions are accounted for.
• Conducts daily start-up meetings; organizes daily assignments/workload to associates, and assigns duties accordingly. Establishes or adjusts work assignments to meet daily production schedules.
• Trains (where applicable) associates in the proper execution of standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
• Maintains time and attendance, productivity and quality records daily. Prepares and generates the daily attendance reports for Branch Manager.
• Implements departmental training and job rotation activities; initiates plan to motivate associates; administers performance management (coaching, accountability and progressive discipline).
• Promotes a positive, inclusive work environment through effectively communicating and interpreting company policies for associates; coaching and counseling, responding to general inquiries, analyzing and resolving work problems in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies (i.e. open door, progressive discipline effective documentation and follow-up)
• Maintains employment related programs and procedures, including health and safety and housekeeping programs, and cultural programs in-order to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and company policy.
• Regularly walk the production floor to ensure staff are working safely and following all policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous Warehouse/Production/Manufacturing Experience is Required.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Staff scheduling experience is an asset.
• Access to own transportation.
• Forklift Certification is an asset; willingness to be in-house trained.
• Must be able to comfortably lift 30lbs and stand for long periods of time.
• Strong English (verbal and written) and Computer skills (MS Office).

Schedule:12 Hour Shifts (rotating 3 days on 3 days off, back 3 nights on and 3 nights off) **A Crew**
