Transit Marketing Intern
Starting Pay: $13.00/hour

 

Position Summary: Join the Fredericksburg Regional Transit team as a Marketing Intern. Support our marketing and communication initiatives while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist in implementing communication strategies, programs, plans, and campaigns.
• Help create department materials and literature, including an employee newsletter.
• Support the execution of Fredericksburg Regional Transit’s Marketing Plan.
• Manage customer signage inventory, including design and placement at stops and on buses.
• Assist in content and layout management of transit web pages.
• Implement social media strategies and develop content for platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
• Collaborate on public timetables and schedules; distribute printed materials and update displays in the community.
• Aid department staff with daily operations and projects, including service promotions and electronic media.
• Create publication materials such as brochures, fact sheets, and other necessary documents.
• Support content management of the transit intranet page in line with internal branding and messaging.
• Handle day-to-day customer communications, including alert postings.
• Maintain a personal calendar of projects, events, and activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current enrollment in a college or university with a focus on marketing, communications, or related fields.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

General Aptitudes and Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform all essential job functions unaided or with reasonable accommodation as needed.
