Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal EMI Test Systems Engineer to join the Sentinel program in enhancing the US Space Force’s ICBM capabilities and ushering in a new era of Strategic Deterrence. This position will be filled in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL. Final grade level offered will be based on candidate level of experience. This position may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. What you’ll get to do: This position is for an engineer experienced in EMI/EMC testing and compliance. The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to the Sentinel (GBSD) Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team in the areas of EMI/EMC design and test. Job duties may include: Support hardware design engineering to ensure compliance with MIL-STD-464 and MIL-STD-461 EMI/EMC requirements. Development of the Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI/EMC) test plans and test procedures to meet the Data Item Descriptions and witness associated testing. Contribute to the development of E3 CDRLs, which may include the E3 Integration and Analysis Report (E3IAR), E3 Verification Procedures (E3VP) and E3 Verification Reports (E3VR). Assist in the design, development, and implementation of testing methods and equipment. Test planning, execution, reporting, and integration support. Prepare detailed test reports and support formal verification of the system. Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements. Perform data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build or hardware component. Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of verification. Product integration, regression, and verification testing including checkout in system test labs. Basic Qualifications: Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master’s Degree; 4 years with PhD. Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; 1years with PhD. Active Secret clearance with an investigation date in the last 6 years; Must have the ability to obtain special program access Experience solving problems and drive tasks to completion. Experience presenting engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations. 3-5 years of experience in writing/reviewing EMI test pro in fast-paced work environment and ability to work in a team environment. Experience in fast-paced work environment and ability to work in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Automated EMI test software and data collection – TILE!. Proficient with requirements and MBSE management tools. Proficient with DOORS, Cameo, and/or Rhapsody. Experience with design for EMI/EMC compliance and system level integration (bonding, grounding, shielding, filtering, transient suppression). Working knowledge of MIL-STD-464 and MIL-STD-461. Prior weapon system experience (GBSD, Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience). Experience with equipment, sub-system, and system level EMI/EMC test setup and execution (expertise in MIL-STD 461, automotive or commercial EMI/EMC testing). Systems engineering experience. A current DoD Top Secret clearance or higher granted or re-investigated within last 6 years. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. #Sentinelsystems Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900 Salary Range 2: $118,600 - $178,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
