Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oral Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic oral surgery team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our practice, providing exceptional support to both our doctor and patients. This position requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to create a positive experience for our patients while assisting in various oral surgery procedures. 

Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and progress notes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient appointments, including scheduling follow-up visits.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care.
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
• Monitor vital signs as required during procedures.
• Utilize dental software for treatment planning and scheduling.
• Assist in the operation of 3D scanners and intraoral impression systems when necessary.

Experience

• Previous experience in dental and/or oral surgery assisting is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
• Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and the ability to take accurate vital signs is advantageous.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and oral surgery is beneficial for effective patient care.
• Proficiency in managing medical records with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations is essential.
• Experience with dental software and digital impression systems and will be considered a plus.
