We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible the implementation of complex Salesforce solutions to meet the needs of our organization. This individual will work closely with other members of the development team to deliver high-quality solutions that align with our business objectives.
This is a remote position that could require some minimal travel to the corporate office in Scottsdale.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop complex Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and other Salesforce technologies.
- Adhere to team coding standards; develop well-structured, maintainable, and easy to understand code.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Batch file processing and MuleSoft.
- Deploy code through our development pipeline using Gearset Continuous Integration with a BitBucket repository using Git, CI/CD toolset.
- Declarative updates to Salesforce metadata (new fields, objects, custom metadata) and related permissions as they are needed for development projects.
- Refine LWC UIs using front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Participate in feature review sessions and gather feedback from business stakeholders during the UAT process.
- Bug fixes and working with help desk staff to assist vetting bugs.
- Stay up to date with Salesforce releases, new features, and best practices to provide guidance and recommendations to the development team.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Experience-based
- 7+ years coding with any modern language or tech stack (Salesforce, .NET, Java, PHP, C++, Python Django, Ruby, etc.)
- 5+ years coding with Salesforce - Apex, SOQL, LWC, Visual-Force, Aura (visual/declarative programming tools do not qualify, e.g. Flows, Process Builder)
- Asynchronous Apex (Batch, Scheduled, Queueable, Platform Events)
- Apex Triggers, transaction management, advanced recursion techniques
- Experience writing custom code-based API integrations between Salesforce and other systems.
- Apex unit tests, mocking/stubbing to isolate the class.
- Advanced debugging, especially with asynchronous transactions
- Using Agile methodologies and tools like Jira
- Gearset or other CI/CD tools, Git fundamentals (branching strategies, merge conflict resolution, etc.)
- Writing org-agnostic code (applicable to any Salesforce instance)
- Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end solutions to complex problems
- Conceptual
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to comprehend a complex codebase, and use existing code for reference when implementing new features or modifying existing functionality
- Strong grasp of fundamental OOP concepts such as abstraction, inheritance, polymorphism, etc., and the ability to apply them during implementation
- Solid understanding of data-structures and basic algorithms, management of space and time complexity
- Understanding of advanced OOP software engineering concepts such as Separation of Concerns, Design Patterns, Inversion of Control, Dependency Injection
- Advanced knowledge of platform limitations and mitigation techniques
- Familiarity with Salesforce data, security, sharing model
- Strong understanding of database design and relationship management

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- Experience writing code outside of Salesforce
- Experience with MuleSoft or another Middleware/ETL tool
- Salesforce Development Certifications - PAB, PDI, PDII
- Exposure to other cloud-based platforms - AWS, SnowFlake, Tableau
- Experience with the Atlassian stack - Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
- Experience using Apex frameworks. Especially FFLIB - Apex Enterprise Framework, the Salesforce recommended open-source Apex framework
- Experience with Financial Services Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, or Service Cloud
- Ability to autonomously design solutions on a small scale, within vague or loosely defined technical specifications
- Experience with project management in any capacity, translating business requirements into user stories, documentation, etc.
