We are seeking an Interior Designer to become a part of our team! You will plan, design and furnish/decorate the interiors of residential and commercial buildings while assisting with the construction process.

Responsibilities:

• Client consultations and site measures
• Formulate design plans that are aesthetic and conducive to the client
• Calculate the specifications and cost of materials for construction
• Select and source design components to create a unique and purposeful space
• Maintain client, vendor, and consultant relationships
• Communicate and coordinate with various trades and suppliers
• Prepare floor plans/3d renderings (with Chief Architect, 20/20 or AutoCAD, Revit or on a comparable platform)
• Prepare documentation for client presentations
• Participate in producing new leads and marketing for company growth

Qualifications:

• 5+ years previous experience in interior design and/or renovation
• Some experience/knowledge in business is a plus
• Familiarity with Chief Architect, AutoCAD, 20/20, or related design software
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoys the creative side of interior design but also the selling process and business growth

 

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

-Assist with completing computer rendered floor plans, dimensioned elevations, lighting plans and 3d renderings with custom added finishes (Designer encouraged to use hand rendering skills when applicable)

-Utilizing the DesignFiles platform and trade accounts provided by HDC, the interior designer will source products and materials online and curate conceptual finish & material boards with selections for everything related to the design of a space requested by the client

-Generate purchase orders corresponding to the curated design boards using the provided DesignFiles platform

-Assembly of design works onto a presentation platform using Canva platform provided by HDC or other platform that the Designer is comfortable with

-Correspondence with suppliers via email, phone and other to coordinate the purchasing and delivery of products to clients

-Correspondence via email, phone and other with general contractors and tradesmen to successfully coordinate construction projects

-Regular on site meetings with clients, contractors and supervisor to manage the project at hand

-Ongoing communication with supervisor via phone calls, messages, emails, video call meetings and in person meetings

-To fill out daily work sheets regarding tasks completed

-Weekly reports to supervisor to discuss various projects and tasks at hand whether it be in document form or via written correspondence

 

Notes:

-When applicable, the Designer will accompany the supervisor to initial client meetings to obtain the design brief and project details, including construction scope, design directions with measurement details and picture documentation of the existing spaces for reference to create successful execution of a design presentation and construction estimate for the client

-Interior Designer to use their own computer aided design software that they are currently familiar with (AutoCAD, Sketchup, Lumion or other) to complete the designs OR HDC can provide the software if necessary

 

Ongoing Objective:

For each project, the Designer will learn the importance of obtaining a full understanding of the client's wants and needs, and make note of all special requests/details to assemble professional presentations/design packages that caters to each unique client and their project.
