About Matchbook Learning

Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana. We operate two schools: Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63, serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, and The Match High School and Career Center, which currently serves 9th grade students and will expand to include 9th and 10th grade students in the fall of 2025.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Restorative Instructional Assistant to join our team at The Match High School and Career Center immediately.

Position Overview

The Restorative Instructional Assistant plays a key role in supporting students with academic and behavioral needs, contributing to their social-emotional growth in a restorative learning environment. Key Responsibilities

These are the key responsibilities of a Restorative Instructional Assistant. Restorative Instructional Assistants may have other duties as assigned.

• Assist in the implementation of restorative practices and conflict resolution strategies with students.
• Provide support in the classroom under the direction of the teacher to facilitate student learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with educators and school staff to develop and execute individualized academic and behavioral support plans.
• Monitor and support students during transitions, including lunch, and dismissal.
• Assist with academic assessments and record-keeping as directed.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting empathy, responsibility, and accountability.
• Support students in building self-regulation skills and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational or restorative setting, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of restorative practices and/or social-emotional learning is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
