Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking an experienced IT professional to service as a Health Information Technology Manager. This position oversees the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and revenue cycle application implementation, support, and integration into services performed within the DBHDS hospital system used by the twelve DBHDS facilities. This position serves on the Health Information Technology Decision Team as the Health Information Technology subject matter expert
Additional responsibilities include overseeing and managing:
- business analysis, system configuration, and software development work required to configure and deploy Health Information Technology for production services;
- alignment of Health Information Technology support and services with regulatory oversight requirements;
- implementation of Health Information Technology that supports clinical care and revenue cycle delivery and meets business needs;
- resolution of differences in requirements between hospital/facility care delivery processes;
- input to vendor negotiations and contract management for all shared service clinical care and revenue cycle application systems; and
- the Health Information Technology Solutions Analysts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in the field of healthcare information technology with enterprise application implementation (ambulatory, hospital, behavioral health, etc.).
- Experience in a team lead, supervisor, or manager role.
- Strong knowledge and experience of government project management policies and procedures.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Experience managing application development projects.
- Understanding of and experience with Commonwealth of Virginia project management standards.
- Understanding of full software development lifecycle and multiple methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile).
