OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The Harvest Floor Team Member’s primary role is to receive live animals in accordance with USDA animal welfare standards, ensure the humane harvest of all animals, and provide excellent customer service to farmers/haulers. Cypress Valley Meat Company is looking for an independent thinker who has a proven track record of improving processes, ensuring food safety and quality, and ensuring an incredible finished product. A successful candidate has the ability to see the big picture while executing on a Cypress Valley operational level to improve overall performance. Additionally, he or she is never satisfied with the status quo.
The Harvest Floor Team Member reports to the Harvest Floor Team Lead. S/he must develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, suppliers, and customers. The Harvest Floor Team Member will work in a team approach with the staff, management team, vendor partners, and customers to establish, maintain, measure, and revise Cypress Valley’s operational systems. S/he must be a team player who is reliable and understands their dependability is important for the team’s success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure humane handling and harvest of all animals run through the facility
Enforce all safety practices
Prepare daily efficiency reports and ensure efficiencies are met and/or exceeded
Assure that all quality standards are followed
Ensure lot traceability
Ensure great customer service at all times
Attend all staff and department meetings
Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
One year of experience working on a harvest floor preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 60 pounds, etc.)
Good hand-eye coordination

Compensation: Starting at $12.00 per hour, depending upon experience. Opportunity for a pay increase based on performance at 90 day evaluation. We believe in rewarding a job well done. Experience is preferred but not necessary. On the job training is provided.
