Job Overview:
The Event Manager will ensure all production-related elements are handled correctly and in a timely and professional manner. Also, the Manager will oversee all outreaches, client needs, registration platform back-end management, and setup & dismantling of division events.
This is a catch-all position perfect for someone looking to break into the community and cultural event planning field. The ideal candidate will be comfortable wearing many different hats at once and will be highly detail-oriented with solid communication skills, both spoken and written. In addition, this position requires someone who is a self-starter, tech-savvy, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Develop and organize all aspects of event registration logistics, including setup and management of event registration platforms, temporary staff schedules, timelines, task lists, and equipment inventory management
Management of assigned clients with briefs and providing problem-solving ideas
Assist clients and attendees with registration needs
Managing event budget and invoicing process
Generate event registration reports
Coordinate, supervise, and assist with all event packing, unloading and re-loading, and the organization of all event materials.
Problem-solving and handling complaints in a timely manner
Working on client briefs and providing ideas
Liaising with external suppliers
Directly supervises and mentors Event Coordinator to assist in yearly projects
Qualifications:
1 to 3 years of Event Management experience
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as collaborate as part of a team
Strong (verbal and written) communication skills with an ability to build relationships
Effective presentation and negotiation skills
High degree of professionalism
Good time-management skills with a problem-solving attitude
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
Customer-oriented mindset
Great project management skills
Proficient in technological platforms
Master of Microsoft Excel program

Hours: Event Management is a high-pressure work environment, usually accompanied by long hours, including, occasionally, nights, holidays and or weekends as needed.
This job is an office-based position with an air-conditioned environment. Occasional remote work may be necessary. Travel for meetings and social events is expected. Must be able to sit or work at event sites for long hours, speak frequently and lift up to 20-30 pounds occasionally.
