Job Summary

Our growing CPA firm has an opening for a Bookkeeper. You will assist clients with bookkeeping projects and perform firm administrative tasks. We are looking for a team member who can demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational and client service skills, problem solving skills and the ability to work in a semi-autonomous manner. Familiarity with different accounting software packages will be a benefit to the candidate, and QuickBooks experience is preferred.

Your specific responsibilities and duties include:

• Review accounting files and create adjusting entries to prepare reports for tax return preparation.
• Day-to-day general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations on client QuickBooks files
• Assist with management of firm databases, project tracking and client communications
• Build and maintain client relationships and manage all aspects of the client engagement process
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
• Assist clients with QuickBooks entries and accounting related matters
• Must have a strong ability to meet deadlines and be willing to work longer hours during tax season

This is a full-time position.

Our office is located near the intersection of Route 22 and Milwaukee Ave in Buffalo Grove (near Lincolnshire).

Qualifications and Skills

• 1 to 3 years of bookkeeping experience
• The ability to work independently and self organize/prioritize projects
• Experience working with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online)
• Experience with Microsoft Office software
• General bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
• Ability to adapt and learn new software solutions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive approach to knowledge of software, processes, and workflows
