Instruction and Curriculum
1. Respect and encourage the uniqueness and individual differences of each student.
2. Teach Christian values by word and by example. Treat all members of the community with respect and dignity.
3. Implement a standard based academic curriculum and the religion curriculum advanced by the Milwaukee Archdiocese.
4. Design instructional periods, which are based in the current research, providing for all learning styles and utilizing a wide variety of teaching strategies.
5. Design class outcomes, which provide a positive learning experience for all students and which develop self-esteem, academic growth, and a sense of achievement.
6. Prepare the necessary plans and materials to meet these objectives and provide meaningful learning experiences. Submit plans as requested by the principal.
7. Assess students’ performance and academic growth formally and informally using a variety of appropriate assessment tools and testing measures.
8. Provide assistance to and/or refer students who have a learning difference.
9. Work with the school principal, parents and outside agencies when there is a specific student need
10. Cooperate in curriculum development to meet the needs of the students.
11. Prepare, organize and supervise field trips and related events that follow the curriculum.
12. Participate in classroom, level, faculty and all school liturgy planning meetings as assigned. Attend school masses and prepare students for assigned mass.
13. Prepare order for needed materials and provide the administrative assistant with the information in a timely fashion.
14. Supervise students as described in the faculty handbook and as required by the school principal.
15. Teachers must take the on-line course of the DPI Wisconsin Medication Training program. Teachers are required to take the training/verification on health concerns related to the students they instruct.
Communication
1. Help create a positive, professional working atmosphere.
2. Collaborate with other teachers to provide for curriculum connections as well as information concerning student needs and concerns.
3. Communicate with parents as needed and report to school principal as appropriate.
4. Attend the scheduled Home and School meetings, Parent Information Night, concerts, open houses, and other required events.
5. Practice punctuality in completing school duties, administrative requests and observing times for school arrival/end of day (7:30am – 3:30pm)
Record Keeping
1. Record daily attendance.
2. Maintain grading system and update PowerSchool information weekly.
3. Prepare student report cards and other related records.
4. Complete curriculum development work.
5. Complete other record keeping as requested by the school principal ie: student data records, cumulative files, personnel records, behavior documentation, etc.
Professional Growth
1. Attend and be actively involved in all faculty meetings, level meetings and in-service experiences.
2. Continue to work toward religion certification as outlined by Office for Schools standards.
3. Maintain Wisconsin state Teaching certification or follow an approved study plan leading to certification within a specified time frame.
4. Design and actively pursue a professional development plan.
5. Practice reflective thinking in order to promote personal and student academic growth.
